These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the Client) and Skardu Expedition Treks and Tours (the Company). By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined below. The Company strongly advises all clients to review this document in full before confirming any package or service.

- BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
To complete your booking, the following must be submitted:
- A clear copy of your valid passport.
- One recent passport-size photograph.
- Documents may be submitted by email or WhatsApp to our office.
- An emergency contact number of your relative.
- PERMIT & PERMISSION PROCESS
All participants are required to submit the necessary documents for permit processing within the stipulated timeframe. In accordance with the regulations of the Gilgit-Baltistan Council, the permit approval process typically takes 4 to 5 weeks.
Note: Once a climbing or trekking permit has been officially issued, no refund will be made by the Gilgit-Baltistan Council in Islamabad.

- COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY
Skardu Expedition Treks and Tours is dedicated to the welfare of all staff and clients. We guarantee fair wages, safe working environments, and ongoing skill development for our team.
However, the Company shall not be held liable for any changes to the agreed itinerary arising from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Road blockages or landslides
- Natural disasters or floods
- Flight cancellations or delays
- Political unrest
- Medical emergencies or illness
Any additional costs incurred due to the above circumstances shall be borne by the client at the prevailing rates.
Note: The Company will assist clients in obtaining a Pakistan Tourist Visa by providing an invitation letter and hotel reservation confirmation upon request.
- PAYMENT SCHEDULE
The total tour package cost is to be paid in three instalments as follows:

Note: The initial deposit is required to confirm your booking and initiate all trip preparations.
- CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellation requests must be submitted to the Company in writing. Refunds shall be processed according to the schedule below, after deduction of costs already incurred (hotel reservations, airline ticketing, documentation, and other preparatory work):

All applicable bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the client.
Note: No refund will be issued to any client who chooses to abandon the trip after arrival, or who departs mid-trip for personal reasons or due to force majeure events.
- ASSUMPTION OF RISKClients acknowledge that trekking, mountaineering, and related activities in remote or high-altitude environments carry inherent risks, which may include but are not limited to: physical injury, illness, altitude sickness, and limited access to medical facilities. By confirming a booking, clients agree to voluntarily assume all such risks and waive any claims of liability against the Company and its outfitters.
- TRAVEL INSURANCE
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all clients. Coverage should include, at minimum:
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Personal accident and medical expenses
- Emergency medical evacuation
- Loss, theft, or damage to personal baggage and belongings
The Company will not be responsible for any costs arising from incidents that would typically be covered by travel insurance.
- PRIVACY POLICY
All personal data collected during the booking process (including passport copies and photographs) will be used solely for the purposes of permit applications, documentation, and trip management. This information will not be shared with any third party for commercial or unrelated purposes.
- COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
Should any client have a concern or complaint during the trip, they are requested to immediately inform the tour leader or guide so that the issue may be resolved promptly. If the matter remains unresolved, a formal complaint may be submitted to the Company via email or telephone after the trip.
- ROOM SHARING & SINGLE SUPPLEMENT
Accommodation in rooms or tents is arranged on a twin-sharing basis as standard. Clients who do not have a partner to share with, or who prefer single occupancy, will be subject to a single supplement charge.
- PRICING & REVISION OF COSTS
The Company reserves the right to revise quoted prices under circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to fluctuations in currency exchange rates, changes to government-mandated permit fees, or other regulatory amendments. Clients will be notified of any such revisions at the earliest opportunity.
- UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES & TRIP CANCELLATION BY COMPANY
Should the Company be required to cancel a trip due to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, civil unrest, or severe weather conditions, clients will be offered an alternative trip of equivalent standard. If no suitable alternative is available or acceptable to the client, all amounts paid to the Company will be refunded in full, minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred. The Company shall not, however, be liable for any additional personal expenses incurred by the client as a result of such cancellation.
- CLIENT CONDUCT & AUTHORITY OF GUIDE
The designated tour or trek guide representing Skardu Expedition Treks and Tours holds full operational authority throughout the duration of the trip. All decisions relating to client safety and group welfare are at the guide’s sole discretion.
Any client engaging in unlawful conduct — as defined under Pakistani tourism law — will be required to leave the tour immediately without entitlement to any refund.
- ITINERARY DISRUPTIONS
The Company will make every reasonable effort to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. However, factors such as flight cancellations, road blockages, or severe weather conditions may impact the itinerary. The Company appreciates the patience and understanding of clients in such situations.
- HELICOPTER RESCUE & EMERGENCY AVIATION
In the event of an emergency requiring helicopter evacuation, a cash deposit of USD 15,000 is required to be held in Islamabad before the rescue operation is initiated. This amount is fully refundable following the operation, less a service charge of USD 300.
