Shingo Chatpa Peak (4,700m), historically also referred to by early climbing teams as Denbor Peak, is an exceptionally scenic granite spire situated in the heart of the renowned Nangma Valley near Kanday Village, Ghanche District. Famous for its clean, high-quality Karakoram rock and relatively low valley elevation, Shingo Chatpa stands alongside iconic neighbors like Amin Brakk, Denbor Brakk, and Caren Levins in the alpine paradise of Baltistan.
Because Base Camp sits at a comfortable ~4,200 meters, Shingo Chatpa serves as a premier technical target for rock climbers and alpine teams looking for pure multi-pitch rock climbing without the extreme altitude strain of 6,000m+ giants. We provide comprehensive end-to-end expedition support 4×4 transport, local Balti high-altitude porters, kitchen staff, and full Base Camp arrangements.

Route & Climbing History: First climbed via technical granite lines, including notable routes like the Gentian Traverse (PD) by British alpinists, Shingo Chatpa features steep slabs, crack systems, and ridgelines. It offers climbers a ideal blend of technical rock routes ranging from moderate alpine AD/TD to high-grade multi-pitch crack climbing on firm granite.
Climbing grade: Technical Alpine Rock Climb (AD to TD / 5.8 – 5.10a / III-IV) — short valley approach trek, moderate glacier approach, and technical multi-pitch rock climbing on high-quality granite. Suitable for competent rock climbers and alpine teams.

Clean up all climbing sites adhering to strict leave-no-trace protocols and trek back down the Nangma Valley to Kanday.

Jeep transfer back through Khaplu to Skardu. Rest, hot showers, and a celebratory dinner with the local crew.

Fly to Islamabad (weather permitting). If flights are grounded, begin the overland drive along the KKH, stopping overnight in Chilas.

If traveling overland from Chilas, complete the final drive to Islamabad. Otherwise, enjoy a buffer day in the capital for sightseeing or shopping.

A: Skardu flights are weather-dependent. The itinerary incorporates built-in overland transfers via the Karakoram Highway (or Babusar Pass) with an overnight stop in Chilas on Days 2–3 and Days 28–29 to ensure guaranteed connections to Islamabad.
