Connecting two of Baltistan’s most famous regions—Shigar Valley and Khaplu (Ghanche District)—the Thalay La Pass Trek is a classic, highly scenic cross-valley Karakoram trek. Crossing the Thalay La (4,572m) pass, this trek guides travelers through lush alpine meadows (broqs), summer shepherd settlements, wild floral pastures, and pristine mountain streams, all framed by views of the Masherbrum and Mango Gusor massifs.
Because the trek avoids dangerous glacier navigation and extreme technical altitude, it stands as one of the most accessible yet rewarding high-mountain pass crossings in Gilgit-Baltistan.
