charakosa valley
Baltistan is a beautiful valley in the Karakoram range and a famous destination for adventure and cultural travels. This region is known as the mountaineers’ paradise.Four of the 14 peaks above 8000m high are situated in the Baltistan region, and hundreds of 7000 m high mountains, along with world-famous trekking routes, are also located in Baltistan. It is also home to several diversified cultures, ethnic groups, and languages. Baltistan has colorful flowers, gushing streams, emerald lakes, lush green pastures, apricot orchids, and the always smiling & welcoming Balti people. Much of the climbing & trekking happens on the giant of Baltoro. In contrast, not far away, the superb valley of Charakusa is growing by isolated towers and super granite spires that remain out of the world. It is a challenging trek leading into the heart of one of Earth’s most isolated and pristine mountain valleys. Nestling at the head of the Charakusa glacier, hidden from the giants of the Baltoro, lies one of the most impressive areas in the Karakoram. Here rise fairy tale mountains, the sort most people only dream of. Perfect granite, massive rock walls, and easy access combine to produce one of the greatest mountain showcases on the planet.
At a few kilometres away from Hushe, in a region of spectacular mountains, is the Charakusa Valley Glacier. In the centre of Karakorum, the K6 (7281 m), K7 (6934 m), Link Sar (7041 m), Drifica (6650 m), Kapura Peak (6545 m), Niza Peak, Namika (6325 m), and Laila peak (6400 m) offer a rare opportunity to climb rock and ice pinnacles.
