The mountain is tucked away in the Karakorum Mountain range amongst mazes of tall peaks. The tallest of the group of six Gasherbrum peaks nearby, Gasherbrum I has the most challenging topography.
A team of French mountaineers under the direction of seasoned climber H. De Segogne attempted Gasherbrum I in 1936, but they failed. Nich Clinch and his group of American mountaineers, on the other hand, were the first to reach the peak’s top in 1958.
Starting at Skardu, the trek leads to Gasherbrum I’s base camp. After travelling through the Shigar Valley and the Baltoro Glacier, you would eventually reach the base camp. Gasherbrum I’s climbing season runs from June to August.

Morning mountain flight from Islamabad to Skardu offers phenomenal aerial views of Nanga Parbat (weather permitting). Upon landing in Skardu, transfer to hotel with remainder of day at leisure for local exploration.

Depart Skardu on thrilling jeep journey through Shigar Valley alongside the Braldu River. Reach Askole, the final permanent settlement before entering the mountains. Begin trekking preparation.
Trek through the legendary Baltoro Glacier corridor via Jhola, Paiju (rest day), Khoburtse, Urdukus, Goro II, and Concordia to Shahring. Experience iconic Karakoram scenery including Trango Towers, Cathedral Peak, and four separate 8,000m peaks. Progressive altitude gain prepares your body for high-altitude climbing.
Core mountaineering period commences with establishment of Gasherbrum I base camp. Over the subsequent weeks, establish high camps, complete acclimatization rotations, await optimal weather conditions, and launch summit attempts via the Japanese Couloir route. Our base camp team maintains continuous support throughout this demanding phase.
Descend from base camp and traverse via alternative Gondogoro La Pass route (5,585m) offering spectacular perspectives of the Gasherbrum massif. Technical pass crossing requires crampons and fixed ropes. Descend through Hushe Valley to reach Skardu by road.
Fly Skardu to Islamabad (weather permitting, contingency day included). Final day free before international departure. Hotel checkout 12:00 PM, airport transfer per flight schedule.
